My name is Rex Kneisley. I am an American working in Korea teaching English at a Christian school. I don't hold a PhD. in Theology, I'm not a pastor, and I'm not a Historian. However, I feel compelled to make a case for a new Christian reformation. I feel that Christian Theology and Bible interpretation is outdated and filtered through fearful perceptions of God. I have great reverence, respect, and awe for the writers of the Bible. I believe they were all divinely inspired.
At the time of the Protestant Reformation in the early 1500's, the Catholic church had been interpreting God's word for over a thousand years. When the Bible was translated into the common languages, many people had the opportunity to read the Bible themselves for the first time. This brought about a profound change in people's view of God, the Bible, and Christianity as a whole. Many new religions were formed which are still active today.
I believe the time has come to re-read the Bible as modern Christians. I belive the time has come to throw out our fearful interpretations God's purpose in our life. I belive the time has come to see the life , death, and ressurection of Jesus in a new light.
